Paulie, each state has different laws or variations of laws when it comes to small claims court. usually, you can file for about fifty bucks and ask for 3times damages, however, mavdude is correct. winning the judgement is easy, collecting the money is questionable. I think if you hired an attorney (except for a brief consultation) you may not be awarded their fees in the judgement anyway! Personally, I feel that you have a better chance in small claims court where you won't have to put out to much money to get him in court. You may have to file in the county of his residents and not yours. Sorry to hear about Alice. It sounds as though she and the donor have been stripped but are you sure the parts are gone. Go get her and every mav/comet part you can find before it all disappears. Good luck!
