The kickdown shifts the trans into second when you mash on the gas at cruzin speeds. You dont need it, you can always pull the shift lever down. I havent had one on mine since I put it together over a year ago & it works fine. Do not wire it in the kickdown position. just remove the rod.


: after rebuilding my 250,and switching to a weber carb,im no longer able to hookup my kickdown,as the throttle on the weber is on the side of the motor,opposed to the throttle being on the back with the stock carb.any way to operate this kickdown?what if i just wired it in the kickdown mode,what would happen.this is a rod linkage.how exactly does a kickdown work,what does it do?my car shifts way too soon thru the gearsthis way.
