The car sounds OK, but the price is way too high. Mavericks are very dependable cars, and easy to work on, so it would probably fit the bill for your transportation needs, if you can get the price down. As far as brakes go, they are probably the weakest part of a Maverick. I had a 75 with a V8 and manual drum brakes a few years back and let's just say that my right calf was the strongest muscle in my body. Come back and let us know how it goes.
