The housing is wider by 2" which will push your tires out of the wheel well by 1" on each side, but it will fit directly on your Maverick leaf springs. While you have the housing out, I would recommend two changes: 1) weld in a brace to the back of the housing spring perches so that they don't roll up, and 2) change the scrawny 3/8" housing u-bolts over to 1/2".

: I have a 9 inch rear end out of a '67 cougar. I currently have highway gears in my '77 Mav and would like to put a little more grab on the ground by putting in a 3.55 locker. My question is: Will a '67 9 inch bolt up to where my 8.8 used to be? I figure this question has been asked before but I can't find any questions like it in the archives. Thanks for any help on this topic.
