First step would be to get electronic ignition, that'll improve your mileage and performance. Then I'd go for a carb, intake, & cam. Last step would be a complete rebuild & stall converter. You didn't mention rear gears, I'd definitely cahnge them if they are stock. Stepping up to 3.25-3.55 shouldn't hurt your MPG too much and make your car much quicker. -CP
: Thinkin about upgrading the performance. Clifford Performance has most all the stuff I was thinkin about but would like more input before I tear her apart. First off, I have a 73. All original with 250 inline. I want to stay with the 250. Heres what im wonderin... stall converter, compression, single or dual exuast, cam, carb, and conversion from points to electronic(msd etc). It will be a daily driver and I want it to have great gas mileage like it is now 23 mpg. Or close to it anyway.What would be the top choices to start with? Cant do them all at once. $$
