: can a 360 mag. motor go/fit in a maverick? also can a dart 4speed trans go in. i was going to put it in a 65 dart, but the body needs more work than i want to put in it. i saw this 2 door mav. nice body and paint job. no motor or trans. i don't even know year or style. the vin. plate under hood has been taken out. is it anywhere else. other than calling owner, can i find the year out by looking somewhere? ------------------------------------------

helen,
people have some oddball ideas of what they want to do with their mavericks. if you can get a chysler 360 into your car, it would undoubtedly be a beast. i just wonder why people would go through all the trouble. its never a drop in job when you attempt to install another manufacturer's motor into your maverick.
i think a 302 is a perfect, "no nonsense" motor for a maverick, that easily be made to overpower your maverick.
a 351 Windsor is about the largest thing i would consider installing, into a daily driven vehicle.
a couple of weeks ago, someone was inquiring about installing a ford 360 into their maverick (see threads way down below) that fellow got a resounding "dont do it".
although the chrysler 360 is better than the ford,,, im saying....
dont do it.
its probably a whole lot more trouble than its worth.
