...There, that should get some hackles up;-) Seriously, unless you're going roadracing, they aren't necessary. The Versailles rear is nice, but heavy & expensive. I wouldn't mind rear discs, but would not accept the trade-offs. Now, if someone came up with a *cheap* conversion for the 8", I would be tempted;-)
