The 10" drums and front discs are more then enough braking power for a Maverick. After all you're not stopping a 2ton car. I know where 3 Mavericks with disc brakes are setting in a junkyard. Get the spindles and buy new rotors & calibers. Good to go.

: Did anybody see last month's Mustang & Fast Ford (I think it was in that one)... they have a project Fairlane that they upgraded with front discs, but they went with a modern drum setup on the back transplanted from a late-model F-150 (very large drums). The reason they was that it would be used to tow a boat, and that the parking brake holds much better with drums than discs (to keep it from rolling down boat ramps). To me this seems like a pretty cool setup, but I'm not sure it's worth the trade-off in terms of braking power (and fade?) Any comments?
