several ways also, does it still have the tag on it. That'll tell you everything if it's been untouched?
Did the car have a Big Block in it? then it will be a 9"
Check the door ID tag, that'll give you the size? do these before you claw underneathe it.
And there is also different 9" rearends that have their +s & -s.
Mid 60s Comet, some had Big Blocks. 390/427s what's the car's VIN & door tag info for the axle code?
Also if it's a Locker it's a 31 spline axles probably, and only a few highpo big block cars that Ford made used the 31 spline axles.

: I know where I can get a rear-end from a mid-60s Comet "Caliente"... it came factory with Detroit Locker. From what I have read, the Caliente is a fairly rare bird, but this one is a total rust-bucket, so parting out is justified. Can anyone tell me if this is a 9-inch? I would be using the center-section only, with Granada or Versailles axles.

: P.S. The same car has a factory 4-speed. Would it be worth the effort to yank the tranny and think about putting it into my Grabber?

: Any advice?
