as Fastman said 28 spline. A good posi unit and forged axles, available from either Currie or Moser will do wonders for strength and still keep the cost and weight down. Besides it already fits.
: The Maverick v8 came with an 8 inch rear having 28 spline axles, not 29. The same goes for any 8 inch made for any Ford vehicle. Only the nine inch had two different splines available, the 28 as standard and 31 for high perf. vehicles.
