I would like to say hello to everyone. I have been visiting Maverick sites for a few months now and have even e-mailed Craig who I would like to thank for responding even though I didn’t buy any thing from him. I have a 73 2door that came from California via my grand mother. She traded in her 66 Mustang for it in 73 and later, July 2000, shipped it to me in Wisconsin. When I was in 4th grade @ 1984 she said she would give it to me. It has served as a drivers-ed car for four of my cousins and made a few trips to Virginia and back. The car had been sitting in a field for about 5 years before it was pulled from the weeds and shipped to me. I was planning a move to Texas when my Grandmother said the car had to be moved from its plot. Being the reckless and nostalgic type I said send it! I was thinking U-haul for the move but after pricing the trip I thought why not dump money in to the maverick and drive it to Texas. I had less than a month to before the move. I bought a suspension kit for the front and new springs for the rear, new 15x8 rear, 15x7 front and new rubber…tires, hoses, etc. Voltage regulator battery and so on. Te day I finished putting it back together was 2 days before departure. I gave my brother my 85 Nissan Maxima and transferred the tags/insurance. The next night at 9pm September 8th he and I hit the road for the 22-hour trek, the car fully loaded. My brother went with me for safety in numbers reasons and so we could drive straight because I also have a cat. I drove from 9pm till 6am and then had to sleep. My brother woke me up 3 hours later because the car was over heating(I also installed a triple gauge). It seemed that the southern heat, luggage carrier, and 75mph speed limits were the cause. I took over the driving for the rest of the trip. 22 hours, 2 and ½ packs of smokes, 120 dollars of gas and the 250 6cyl got us there or here rather.
Any way these sites are cool and I struggle with the thought of spending more money on the Maverick, but I continue to think of my big plans. The biggest problem; is I live in an Apt. , have limited tools and it’s my only ride. Oh yea limited funds.

It's a beater
