Atzy I have been asked many times at shows and cruises about doing a E.F.I.installation and always recommend that they get FORD EFI book and or info to get familiar with the system because during the installation and after, if you have problems and no expertise is close at hand you may be in a bind. The local FORD dealer most likely would not want to help. Here is an outline of what needs to be done. 1- A donor car to get the computer, wiring along with the engine. 2- Hi pressure feed line must be run from the fuel tank and recomend a deep sump conversion at the tank as you will have fuel starvation problems when the tank gets below quarter full, upon hard acceleration. 3- A fuel pump from the 85-87 F150 pu. truck can be mounted on a bracket just in front of the tank. These pumps are found mounted on the truck frame about even with the drivers seat. They supply as high as 100 lbs. press. The return line should be plumbed back to the tank and donot use the tank vent as it is to restrictive and cause the system press. to be to high. 4- Move the battery back to the trunk and use a mounting kit to do this. Long starter cable, fuel pump relay mtg. near the BAT. 5- Up front, mount the air cleaner assembly at the old battery location and cut a hole in the side panel about 3 in. for air to the filter. 6- Exhust manifolding needs to have the oxygen sensors added to each side in the head pipe within about 15 in. of the exhust ports to ensure they will run hot enough (at least 700 deg.).Some installations are sucessful with them mounted in the collectors of long tube headers,Ive not had any luck doing that. 7-You need to match the flywheel number of teeth to the starter and be careful to get the right one or the engine balance will be incorrect and cause a lot of vibration.8- The fan and water pump runs in reverse rotation to the 302 due to the wider serpintine belt. 9- Its difficult to say much about how to wire this installation. 10- The brace bars from the middle of the cowl to the spring towers need to be replaced with a smaller assembly such as 1 in square tubing to clear the e.f.i. intake maifold top half and now there is no room for power brakes. If I can help further, go to the registery, key in E.F.I. at the bottom and 3 cars will come up. E-mail me and I will try to help. Good luck Ken
