How do I read tire numbers?

I went and got new tires the other day, I went from 195/75/14 to 215/70/14 and I was wondering how exactly do you read those numbers? I know that the first one is the width, the second one is the height, and the third is rim size. But what do the numbers mean, can you figure them into inches and such?
