An older woman i know through various sources has a '73 Grabber, auto/302, in pretty good shape! It hasn't run for about 20 years, has four flat tires, and the body is rough...but the interior is prime! Plus...48k original miles!!
: My questions are:
: 1) What will need replacing? The transmission will likely be dead. I would replace all the radiator hoses...what about brake lines? What else? Is there anything else that will definitely need replacing?
: 2) Since the transmission will be dead, how what are the chances of putting a AOD in? What years work? What parts will i need? A custom transmission crossmember?
: 3) What's a good offer for this car? It has rusted through in several places, but the interior is flawless and it's low-mileage. I was thinking in the area of $250...or would that be a rip-off? I'm asking more for "what it's worth"--not what i could get away with. Because she is a friend, i don't want to rip her off.

: Thanks!!

About the interior. my guess is it looks good right now, but it is problably molded ,dry rotted and as soon as you get in it and start using it the interior will start to fall apart. it looks good now cause it has not been used. No more than $100. Why was it parked for 20 years? Must been something already wrong?
