I recently gave a tuneup to my '73 Maverick. It included everything but plug wires. The engine ran really rough and had no power afterwards. I sat the dwell again and got it to run a little better but it would just go to pieces when I pressed the gas. I disconnected the vacuum advance and now it runs like a mother. Just a slight hesitation on starting but after that it really goes. Anyone know why this has happened? I have not checked the timing although it does seem like it goes too far advanced with the vacuum connected (which I have experienced on other engines).
