67 was 289s, on the front of the engine is a build date stamp, milled pad, by head surface, check build date. And even then the only real way is to measure the stroke in it.
: How can I tell if this motor is a 302 or a 289 . I got it out of a 67 cougar, but I don't think it was the org. motor. the tag on the tran. said it was for a 289 C4. Hope someone can help me figure this thing out. Thanks Willy
