: I'm swapping a 351w into a 1970 that had a 250-6. I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with using the stock 250 radiator on the 351.

There is another factor that causes cooling problems in these cars.
When long tube headers are used they fill up most of the space both sides
of the engine that would normally allow air drawn in by the fan to pass out
under the car. The fan then can no longer pull as much air through the radiator
because of this blockup. In fact it can get to the point that it trys to raise
the rear of the hood up about an inch in an effort to let the air out.
A larger radiator will seem to help but often when you get on it for awhile
when the temp. gets in the high 80s and into the 90s, the gauge starts to get well up toward 200+
and this show that the cooling is still marginal with an engine bay that is quite small and closedup.
