I am sure that you can go ahead and remove the other stud and nut. Nothing from the inside should fall out.

I really see no need to buy new studs and nuts either. Just re-use them.

: I have to replace the master cylinder on my 74 Comet, manual drum brakes all around. The nuts to hold the master cylinder in place are frozen but i've succedded in removing one of the studs with the nut attached. The other one is coming out the same way and my question is this, if I remove both studs, am I going to lose anything inside there or is whatever the studs screw into attached in some other way? It will take longer but I'll make an extra trip to the aut parts store to buy new studs and nuts to put in place before I take out the second one but is it necessary? Probably be a good idea to replace them anyway but can I do it in one trip? Thanks.
