In addition to 74merc,s comments,you need to get the trans control linkage cable from a 83-85 carb car as the trans needs to have it's pressure changed as the throttle is opened like an EFI car does.
This trans does not manually shift 1-2-3 like the C4. The shift indicator in the donor car will show a 1-D-(od)-N-R however it can be tricked into 2nd.
An aftermarket co. sells manuel control 4 speed version.
My preference would be the addon OD behind the C4. The benifit is 6 gears, full control and better rear grearing to end up with the best of both worlds.
