: Are there any disc brake upgrade kits available that rill fit on the Maverick. I have 74 disc brakes on my 73 now but want to upgrade to 2 or 4 piston calipers and better rotors. Are there any kits made for other cars that might fit or any made for the mavericks? I need more stopping power now that I will be reaching near 120 mph in the quarter.

Unless you have a very short shutdown area where you race or are running a road course, I don't see why the existing brakes are so bad. If everything is is top condition and working properly, they should slow you down just fine in a reasonable amount of distance. My Mav runs around 115 to 118 and still has drum brakes all the way around. Yes, discs are better but if you use good quality parts and maintain things on a regular basis, you should have few problems. Of course it never hurts to upgrade but cost factor is a major concern. Of course safety should come first and if you feel you need bigger brakes, by all means put them on. Just my thoughts on it. Good luck on your racing and let us know how it goes.
