Ryan, I felt the same way with my 70 Maverick. I used 74 Maverick manual front disc brakes and it was ok, but not as good as I was expecting. It could have been because I had used units and they needed a rebuild, but I didn't deal with it. I had a 67 Mustang 4 piston caliper setup that I bought from SSBC a few years back and never used. I decided that all new was the best thing for me and did the swap in 3 hours. The good thing about the 4 piston caliper is that it applys a great deal more power than the 74 discs I had. They also stay cooler. Though a bit more heavy than the floating type, it is worth it. If weight is your concern though, SSBC now offers the same kit with aluminum 4 piston calipers which reduced unsprung weight something like 10-15 lbs. per side. And semi-metalic pads are a must. I am very happy with my setup and don't feel any need to go as far as adding a power booster, although it would reduce pedal effort, possibly allowing shorter stops because the power is applied faster. If you have any questions reguarding my setup , please post again.
