Jason It called a block heater. I have one in my 93 F-250 Diesel. It draws 1000 watts of elec. Thats 10 100 watt light bulbs! It will change your elec. bill. I have seen elec. bills change by $30 just from plugging in a block heater. Ford recomends (on my truck) that you only need to plug it in if the air temp is near 0 deg.F. And that is because it is a diesel. Unless you live in Alaska I don't think you will need a block heater. If you only start the car up once a week just to "Let it warm up"you are doing it more harm than good. If the car is being stored you are better off "winterizing" the car and leaving it sit until you decieced to play with it. Just my $.02 Russ
