: How exactly do i "winterize" a car if im not gonna turn it on until sometime this spring? i've only heard winterize as in check your radiator, brake fluid blah blah blah, the jiffy lube stuff.

Never consider a question stupid, consider it as a learning exsperience. If any internal combustion engine is to be idle for long periods of time, you should do the following change oil, drain or run the fuel out of the carb, remove spark plugs and spray some lubricant into each cyl. like WD40 or other commercial lubes, replace plugs. Also put some fuel stabilizer such as STA-BIL in the gas tank. I also spray the exterior of the carb and linkage with lube. If your car is not going to be driven for awhile, jack it up and get all tires off the ground. That is basically winterization. If I forgot something some of the other fellows will let you know. One more item, you might want to remove the battery and take it into a warm place or put it on a slow trickle charger.
