: hopefully it was base clear paint,but for the price i doubt it. it is probably a single stage enamel.that isn't bad,especially if you are going to drive it,it is very durable and chip resistant. you can wet sand and buff it also,but only do the bad spots,don't do the whole car. if you do it will get a cloudyness to it,esecially green.sorry you were dissapointed,but i'm sure it will look good in the end.2500 dollars is cheap,so you have room to work with it.if you have any questions on wet sanding and buffing feel free to e-mail me. The price here in Arkansas is about the same as where your at. 2500 should get a decent job but to get flawless body and mirror like finish does cost more. For my dailey driver a 2500 job should be alright but for show quality, 4 to 6000 is not out of line. Needless to say I will never have a show quality car done. Still think he should try and get something done about it if it's a real bad job.
