I've often dabbled with the idea of equipping my black Mav with a light bar, spot lights, an antenna or two, "poverty" wheel covers and painting a sheriff's star on the doors just for kicks. I don't have enough guts to paint the doors white but I think it'd make an awesome pursuit vehicle.
: I was browsing through the archives and noticed an interesting post. Someone posted that ford was planning a police package for the '76 mavericks but never followed through. That got me thinking and I checked with copcars.com and found out that the NYPD DID have a few police mavericks in '77 but weren't entirely pleased with them. I think that any grabber mavericks would make a very cool police pursuit vehicle(especially the 71 or 72). Has any of you ever seen a maverick painted up as a patrol car? I bet somebody somewhere has experimented with a model that way. Just a thought!
