88 5.0 questions......

I have a guy offeing me a 88 Lincoln Towncar with 5.0 & automatic for $150-$200. Car runs ok & blows cold A/C. I'm considering this set up for my 57 Ranchero which will eventually be my tow vechile for my Mavericks. Is this an overdrive trans? Is the fuel injection the same as the Mustang's? Is this worth the time to get? Opinions please
