Catalytic Converter Test Pipe

Yes, I will eventually put real dual exhaust on my '77, but in the meantime, I need to replace the awful VV carb with an aftermarket set-up. I will probably plug the converter doing this, so I was thinking I should get a converter test pipe. Does anybody still make those? My car is a '77 302cid w/C4 auto?
