I used to run straight methanol in my 4-wheeler. They claim an 18% HP gain. The methanol carb takes huge jets and consumes about twice as methanol compared to gas. It is also very corrosive to other metals, not only aluminum. A couple years ago I could get a 55 gallon drum of it for about $80 and about $20 for the drum. After that, they exchange it and charge you a cleaning fee. A lot of places are getting to the point where they won't sell it anymore because they think they will be held liable if something goes wrong. Other places charge upwards of $6 a gallon, which is ridiculous.
I ran it in a 2-stroke and used pre-mix, but if you run it in a 4-stroke, you'll want to add some oil (Summit, Jegs, sells special methanol lube).
