Sorry, this isn't exactly Maverick related, but this board is great and i know there are a lot of extremely knowledgeable people who come here. I'm trying to sell an engine and transmission in the local paper, and i'm not sure if (as is) they'll bolt-up together.
The engine is a:
1978 351M, don't have the casting #'s handy, but i can provide them if necessary.
Transmission is a:
1973 FMX (3-speed auto, aka "Cruise-o-matic") out of a '73 Torino. The transmission was originally attached to a 351C 2bbl (sold a long time ago).
Sorry to post on this, i'm just basically wondering if there would be any reason why the two wouldn't work together--if they'd bolt right up (including the torque converter) then i could sell the two as a pair and kill two birds with one stone. I'd test it myself, but one is at my mom's house, the other is at my dad's house! Plus, i still wouldn't know if the torque converter would work. Thanks for any info!
