From the factory, the floor shift linkage had a rod that ran from the trans arm up to the column, where the normal column shifter linkage connects. That way it would lock in park only. Most conversions omit this linkage. It would be easy to do, just keep your column shifter intact, but remove the dentent locking stuff so that the shifter will move freely from park to low. Then weld an extension onto the trans shifter arm so it looks like a "T". The floor shift will hook to the new extension & the orgional column will go where it did before. Thus your key will lock the system in park only.
Way back in 72 when I bought a Hurst 3 speed shifter for my Sprint, They had brackets to keep the first/reverse rod connected to the column so the backup lights worked & you had to put it in reverse to remove the key.
