we have a home made device to clean out gas tanks, take a boxspring, put two boards across it, couple of ties of some fasion, an electric motor and an alternator with half the weight removed from one side. bolt the tank to the frame and throw in a gallon or so of rocks. makes for a nasty vibrating bed, but my old POS gas tank was nice and shiny after we got thru...

: If a sealed gas tank has sat for 9 years, what would be the best recommendation for removing the varnish? Should I fill it up and cross my fingers, or what? Best I can tell, it is bone dry. Thanks, Doug
