: Sorry that sounded so whiney. It's a 250, all stock (points ignition, 1 barrel carter rbs carb). "OLD" miss was only #1 cylinder, intermittent when cold but dead miss when hot. I only got the work done yesterday, so I'm not sure if I am missing on more than one cylinder now or not... kind of doubt it. I didn't do anything to screw up any of the rest of them. It's probably still missing on the #1 cylinder, but I can't be sure yet. It does have much more power now, and doesn't seem to miss at mid to higher revs. Before I got the car, they had replaced the coil, points, distributor cap, etc. I replaced the plugs & wires (both Bosch, platinum plugs) and a new carburetor. Even when it is missing, you can take off the #1 spark plug and hear the spark arcing against the engine block, so I don't think it's an ignition problem. Maybe I just didn't do a good enough job grinding the valves.

: Thanks for the help.

Are you sure it sparks "everytime" it is suppose to? My 70 missed when it had it's original 200 I-6. I used a timing light and it didn't spark consistantly. It would spark, then miss a beat or two, then spark for a few runs etc. It too had points. It is possible that they are in need of another adjustment because the dist. get's worn down after 30+ years of service(and sometimes after rebuilt it still sucks). So by simply changing points, you may not get rid of the problem if the dist. is worn too much or has an inconsistant wear pattern where the points ride. You may want to get electronic ignition. I have a Pertronix elec. ign. for the I-6 that I used just before I did the V8 swap. You can have it for free if you just pay for shipping. If this doesn't help fix, you'll still never have to worry about points again.

Let me know if you want them.
