put a plug in from a good cylinder and see if it makes any difference, comp test? If not, then you have a bad Cam lobe, would bet money on it.

Sorry that sounded so whiney. It's a 250, all stock (points ignition, 1 barrel carter rbs carb). "OLD" miss was only #1 cylinder, intermittent when cold but dead miss when hot. I only got the work done yesterday, so I'm not sure if I am missing on more than one cylinder now or not... kind of doubt it. I didn't do anything to screw up any of the rest of them. It's probably still missing on the #1 cylinder, but I can't be sure yet. It does have much more power now, and doesn't seem to miss at mid to higher revs. Before I got the car, they had replaced the coil, points, distributor cap, etc. I replaced the plugs & wires (both Bosch, platinum plugs) and a new carburetor. Even when it is missing, you can take off the #1 spark plug and hear the spark arcing against the engine block, so I don't think it's an ignition problem. Maybe I just didn't do a good enough job grinding the valves.

: Thanks for the help.
