Our 74 Comet, equipped with 3-speed manual, is sometimes rather difficult to shift from Reverse to 1st. There is no difficulty shifting between any other gears. And sometimes it goes from R to 1st just as slick as you please. The shifter (column-mmounted) also sometimes rattles slightly as I'm driving.
Has anyone else experienced any of these problems? Any suggested remedies?
