Daniel, if the tag is still attached to the rear, your open rearend gear ratio will read 2.79 on the tag. If it is a T-loc it would read 2L79. Obviously, L meaning loc. I believe the number for the ratio is in the left hand lower corner of the tag. At times the first number is so close to where the tag bolts to the third member that it is difficult to read. Watch ebay for the 8" T-locs. About 3-4 months ago one went for 150.00 with housing and axels. good luck
