...If you look at the installed spring, the eyes sit above the spring - hence wound up. Reversing means winding the front down. The eye now sits below the spring, giving it an s-shape. This raises the front relative to the rear. That results in the wheel having a straight up & down motion instead of pitching slightly forward on every bump. It also means when the body rolls, the wheels will not shift front/back relative to each other. Hence no strange sterring motions during transient handling;-)
