: I have a '72 Grabber with the 302, and I was wondering if I can fit an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake on it (with a Performer carb) without having to use a hood scoop. Any help would be appreciated.
If you have a bone stock engine, the performer (RPM) is not the better choice as it will lose some low end torque over the the performer model.
Bigger ports and runners on a stock engine slows air speed and torque suffers.
I started with a stock Ford cast iron 4B manifold, then switched to the performer rpm with no other changes and that is what happened.
Please understand I'm talking about a stock engine that is about done making power at about 4800 rpm. The performer rpm give up some torque in favor of the 5 to 6000 rpm range
where the stock engine will not get unless modified.
I'm not trying to disagree with anyone but take a good look at this. I have no experience with the stelth manifold and hope it will holdup low end over an Edl-rpm.
As for corrosion,if running just water, use inhibitor with it.
There should be no hood clearence problems.
Thanks for hearing my views.
