Also, the reverse rotation pumps have a different bolt pattern for the pulleys.. So you can't mix them up, its impossible. (Unless you make your own pulley or something) -CP

: Yes it is regular rotation. No need to call the Ford dealer, just use common sense ?!? You already have the reasoning down. If the serpentine belt pulley is grooved, then it must be turning the same way as the crankshaft, like a V-belt car has to. So it is obviously regular rotation. A smooth pulley means that you're using the smooth side of the belt and obviously turning opposite the crankshaft and reverse rotation. -CP

: : just want to clarify... i bought an aluminium water pump for a '90 Crown Vic. This is NOT a reverse rotation pump, correct?? the inlet is on the driver's side.
: : please correct me if i am wrong. i am running this pump with a grooved pulley which means regular rotation, right? if it was running a smooth pulley off the back of the belt, then it would be reverse, right?
: : i just want to make sure that i have the correct pump and have it running in the right direction. right now it's just mocked up on the engine stand.
: : thanks,
