: Speaking from Denver CO, thats a steal, I can't touch a system like that for under $500. I would also put in an H pipe not an X pipe. Put one exactly 30" from the exhaust manifold(or header) where the pipes connect to the head, then from that back 60" if it will fit, if not, then forget it. The H-pipe is not for exhaust to flow through, when the exhaust pulses traveling down the pipe they are not the same on both sides, so as they flow past the H they form a small vacume to equalize the pulses and help to balance and scavage the gas aiding in the pulling of the gas to the end pipes. If however you don't position them correctly in the proper position your wasting your time. I got that figure from my small block book and it's close enough to fit a 289-351w.

This might sound dumb but what the heck is an H and/or X pipe? As far as I can tell it looks like there are two separate pipes that go to the engine and go straight back. Thanks so much for the reassurance.
