The 1973 bumper stickes out away from the car a little bit and the 1970-1972 rear bumper fits more flush against the car.

: What is different in the bumper hardware. I just got a rear bumper from the junkyard for my 73 and it looks like it mounts a little higher than my old one, but my old one was bent so it is hard to tell. I swapped the bumpers complete with brackets and don't know what year the new one came off of.
