I did some more playing around, stoll my dads 735 and it fired right up, idled good with no smoke. I know believe that both the carbs i rebuilt are screwed up somehow. My dad and I have done 3 rebuilds in the past few months, the first one didnt work, the second works great and the third also dosnt work... very frustrating! I looked over a holley book that said to note how many base plate screws were installed. Mine had six, with two not installed, i thought that they were missing so filled up all the screw holes for the base plate, that couldnt be it could it? Maybe my flat levels are too high causing it to spill over into the engine? Im just glad it is capable of running, now gotta get a good working carb on there! Oh its a 5spd also. Thanx for all the help
