How modified is your engine and how high can it rev? I am currently using 3.55's with a very mild 302 and 3.55's make the engine rev pretty good at higher speeds so you may want to reconsider this unless you have an overdrive trans. BTW, I am around approx. 3,200 at 65 mph (no tach)and I get about 9-11 miles per gallon on average while going easy on it.
