If you do move your shifter to the floor, don't forget about the neutral safety switch. You will have to remove the wires from the stock one located on the bottom of the column and extend the wires to the new one located on the shifter itself...or you won't have any juice! Also check to see if the new shifter includes a neutral safety switch. Many of the "racing" type shifters do not come with one in the box...you have to buy one extra. Maybe something to consider pricewise.
