Is your car a 69.5 or 70 with manual steering? If yes, then yes you can install the headers after the engine is in. I too have a 69.5 and installed my hedman headers after my engine was in, and without unbolting anything. What I did was jack up the car and install them from underneath, and I believe Charlie said the same, the passenger side goes right it real easy, but the driver side takes a little wiggling and again, it will go in ok without any unbolt of the engine. From when I started to install the passenger side , then the drivers side, and everything bolted up it took around 20 minutes total.
