82' 5.0 Capri did not come with an automatic tranny and an AOD flexplate is 164 teeth. I think dennis is right about mav's only coming with the small bellhousing. My 250 inline six converter bolted onto the special flexplate from B-M no problem. As for telling the difference between the two, all the bellhousing bolts line up perfectly betwwen the two so it's hard too tell just by looking, but if you measure your 157 tooth flywheel and add about an inch that should be how big the 164 AOD flexplate is(you should be able to score one for about $30 bucks at a junkyard), and that's what fits in the large bellhousing. Finding a large bellhousing for a c-4 shouldn't be too bad, try a mustang with a 351w, or maybe a truck with a 302 or 351w. Just measure the inside diameter too make sure the AOD plate will fit, and make sure you take the spacer plate in between the block and the flexplate as the small bellhousing spacer will not work with the large. you could probaly get that cheaper than buying the special flexplate.
