it's pretty easy, On 4spd the linkage and shifter handle bolt to the trans tail shaft itself. Just cut only enough hole in the carpet & trans tunnel to have the shifter come thru. Then when you remove the 3sp linkage wire it in the correct position to allow the key to be removed. Your backup lights will also have to be mounted on the 4sp shifter, and rewired to it, probably be your biggest headache, use Stang mount for that.
: So how hard is it to swap from a 3 on the tree to a floor-shifted top-loader 4 speed (or other 4 or 5 speed tranny)? Can you keep the stock pedal set-up? What all is involved in performing this swap? Thanks in advance.
