You should be able to buy a Lightning or Cobra R 5.4 crate for less than $3k, and wiring, computers, & sensors for around a grand, can you build a 650 HP motor that'll last for $4k or less? : I want some suggestions. I have considerd a 5.4 engine in the far future(because it is very expensive right now). But I am considering a 408 for the very near future as a substitute for awhile. Now, will a production 351W hold up to 650 hp with a stud girdle and a few things like that? I don't want to buy a Nascar block. Also, has anyone here done this kind of stroker kit, because I am wondering what combinations you have tried for cam, comp., and carb. set-ups for the maximum power output. My 302 is nice, but I always have the urge for more power. What kind of RPM limits can a forged steel crank 408 handle? Thanks for any info.
