The idea of making a ram air system to force air into the engine is not really practicle. To be usefull, you have to overcome the current air pressure. The scoop that would accomplish that is huge and you would have to be traveling quite fast, excess of 70mph. The real function of a hood scoop is to bring the coolest air into the engine which allows for a better explosion. The best air or should i say the coolest is the air by the windsheild. That is why the cowl induction scoop is the best since it gets that air. The best solution is to get the temp down in the engine compartment. If your running a automatic trans then it will be running hotter than the engine. If you don't have a tranny cooler that would be a better use of time and money.
