Under no circumstances can you just "bang in" the shock towers. For one, I doubt you could do it and if you did, you'd severely damage the structure of the car. I used Dynomax long tube headers in my car. Personally I don't think the quality is nearly as good as the OEM shorty headers, but at least they fit. One side note: You'll have to install the power steering adapter (also available from Dynomax) in order for your power steering control valve to clear the long-tube headers. Also, if you intend to retain a column shifter, the shift linkage will interfere with the left hand header. I would suggest converting to a floor shift if you haven't already.

: I didn't think it would be a problem! Well, can I just bang in the towers to fit them? If not, which headers do I have to get? This sucks!

: : The '95 Mustang shorty headers will fit on your engine, but not in a stock Maverick, as they'll never clear the shock towers.

: : : Can I use a 95gt offroad H-pipe to match the stock 95gt headers on my engine? Or do I have to get one custom built for my car? I plan to just run an H-pipe to 3-chamber flows then dump them.
: : : What did you 5.0 guys do about this?
: : : Any ideas appreciated, thanks
