: Do you happen to know what kind of toploader you are using? Wuold you happen to have any part numbers for the shifter? I was also wondering why they take getting use to. How are they different in the way they shift? Thanks for your time in responding. John B.
: I've had several Hurst Competition Plus shifters and they are good. Last year, I bought a Hurst Vert-Gate shifter. They are 10x better than a competition plus shifter for everything except road racing. At the quarter mile track it is impossible to miss a shift. They take a little getting used to on the road everyday, but you know exactly what gear you're going into. Plus it has a reverse lockout to prevent you from accidently shifting the trans into reverse (it is also useful when parking the car, as well). .
